New Delhi, Ajmer and Jaipur Tour Overview

Ajmer with population of 400,000 is an important sacred city of Rajasthan south of Jaipur nestles in a picturesque valley of Aravalli Ranges . It was established by Ajaipal Chauhan during the 7th century. It was then called Ajaimeru meaning invincible hills. The city is world famous because of Dargh Sharif Ajmer the burial place of Sufi saint Khwaja Muin-ud-din Chishti. The birth place of the saint is Sanjar in Persia in the year 1142. It is believed he entered India along with the army of Muhammad Ghur dating back to 1191. His end came in 1236 after living in seclusion for six days remembering the Almighty. He is till today remembered as a saint and protector of the poor. People of all nationality from all over the world visit Dargh Sharif Ajmer located in the centre of the old city. The credit of constructing the Mazar along with dome over the existing structure at Dargh Sharif Ajmer goes to the Sultan of Mandu Ghyasuddin. Dargh Sharif Ajmer is a major pilgrimage centre for Muslims at the time of fast of Ramadan.

Dargh Sharif Ajmer mausoleum construction was concluded by Humayun and the gate was made by Nizam of Hyderabad. Day 1
Namaste! Today you will arrive at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. A Friends Travel Services representative will be waiting for you with a sign bearing your name and you will then be transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day is at your leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel in Delhi.
Day 2
The day begins with breakfast followed by visit to old and New-Delhi Rajghat, Shanti Van and Shakti Sthal are memorials to Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi respectively. Shah Jahan’s imposing citadel the Red Fort was built at the eastern extremity of the walled city along the river front. Jami Masjid the biggest mosque was also raised by Shah Jahan. It is the largest mosque in India . Break for Lunch in a good restaurant in the vicinity.

By afternoon the tour proceeds towards Old Delhi. The 12th century tallest stone tower Qutab Minar an Islamic landmark was built in 12th century by Qutbuddin Aibak. In the compound is the fascinating 4th century Iron Pillar as good as new. The 340-roomed Viceregal lodge raised atop Raisina Hill and is today the Rashtrapati Bhawan, where the President of India lives. The beauty of this building is increased by the Rajpath axis and the symmetrical location of the India Gate the World War I memorial arch. Laxmi Narayan Temple is considered very pious among the Hindus. The Bahai Lotus Temple is spectacular modern landmark. The newly constructed Akshardham Temple on the river bed is pious and amazing architectural piece. Those interested in shopping visit Chandni Chowk. After the day’s excursion return to your hotel by evening. Overnight stay at Delhi.
Day 3
Early morning our driver will pick you up & transfer to New Delhi station to board train to Ajmer. Breakfast in the train. Travel by super fast air conditioned Shatabdi train to Ajmer. Enjoy the journey in this super fast train. Upon arrival in Ajmer pick up & transfer to hotel. After freshen up proceed to Ajmer visit the Dargah Khwaja Sahib, one of the holiest Muslim shrines in the country. Day 4
This morning after breakfast you are free till afternoon in time you will transferred to Ajmer railway station to board train to Jaipur. Upon arrival in Jaipur you will met by our driver transfer to hotel. Rest of the evening is free for you. overnight in Jaipur.
Day 5
This morning after breakfast proceed for full day city tour of Jaipur. Places to visit Amber Fort in the outskirts of Jaipur. Enjoy the jeep ride ascent to the fort or by elephant ride up to Amber Fort- built in 16th century by Maharaja Man Singh, it sprawls on the hillside. Its construction was started by Raja Man Singh but completed by his descendant Jai Singh. Amber is the classic romantic Rajasthan Fort Palace. About Jaipur city is divided into nine squares each signifying god of wealth. The regal spaciousness of the city palace at the centre gives way to markets and residences contained within walls pierced by seven gateways. Visit 5-storied Hawa Mahal in old city, 1728 constructed Observatory the Jantar Mantar, central museum housed in Albert Hall, Ram Niwas Gardens zoo and crocodile breeding farm, or visit places in and around the city. Gaitor cenotaphs of the royal family, the Sun Temple at Galta with a deep gorge in its backyard.Sisodia Rani Palace & Gardens with mural decorated walls or the Vidyadhar’s Garden. By evening return to your hotel. Overnight at jaipur.
Day 6
This morning after breakfast you are free for the day you may visit Jaipur city Again or Rest in the hotel. By evening you will be transferred to Jaipur railway station to board train to Agra. Upon arrival in Agra pick up & transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Agra. Every Friday Tajmahal closed.
Day 7
This morning after breakfast you will visit the seventh wonder of the world Taj Mahal Described as the most extravagant monument ever built for love, it was constructed by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan as a memorial to his queen Mumtaz Mahal. From here you will visit AGRA FORT. It is a UNESCO world heritage site located in Agra. It is the most important fort in India. The great Mugals, Humayun, Akbar, Jehangir, Shah Jahan and Aurangzeb lived here, and the country was governed from here. From here proceed to Visit Sikandra fort is the tomb of Akbar; construction started within his lifetime and was completed by his son Jehangir in 1613.you may also visit Markets in Agra finely in the evening you will be transferred to railway station to board the train to Delhi. You will have an impression of TaJMahal and a sheer magic that the Taj exudes making it an unforgettable and cherished image forever. On arrival at Delhi you will be dropped at your hotel by our Driver. Overnight in Delhi. In case you want visit fatehpur sikra same can arranged in the trip in Agra.
Day 8
This morning after breakfast you will be transferred to Airport or Railway Station for your onwards journey.
